ICC TuitionAt Go-Sail.je we can provide tuition to help you towards obtaining your ICC. Please follow the link to Private/Own Boat tuition and say when booking that you require tuition for an ICC assessment. We can provide tuition aboard a Go-Sail.je vessel or aboard your own boat.
It is worth noting that holders of the RYA Day Skipper practical certificate can apply for an ICC without any further tests, this also provides you with the power section of the ICC for vessels up to 10m. Powerboat Level 2 certificate holders can apply for an ICC without any further tests. However, this will only cover them for power vessels up to 10m. |
ICC AssessmentIf you have knowledge and experience at or above Day Skipper level and you feel you are ready for assessment please complete the booking process to arrange your test.
The test comprises of boat handling both at close quarters and out at sea along with a selection of theory tests covering the collision regulations, buoyage, sound and light signals. For students who have done some dinghy sailing and crew work but have limited or no navigational experience or time in charge of a yacht we would also recommend an online theory course and a 5 day practical Day Skipper course. For assessment aboard a sailing yacht or powerboat you should provide at least 1 crew member, ideally 2. We can provide a crew member for a fee if required. |
CEVNI Assessement
The Code European de Voies de Navigation Interieure (CEVNI) is the code governing navigation on the interconnected European inland waterways. Candidates applying for an ICC with the inland category validated must have sufficient knowledge of the traffic regulations applicable on EU inland waters. There is a separate test on CEVNI regulations. The knowledge required to pass this short test can be obtained from the RYA book of European Waterway Regulations (G17).
