Sometime after the middle of the last century, a young boy called Ian Barette was spotted in a wooden 12' clinker boat, bobbing up and down in the middle of Rozel Bay as he pulled up his lobster pots. He had rowed out to them and hoped to sell his catch to help fund the cost of a second-hand Seagull outboard. Thus started Ian's love of the sea and messing about in boats.
Moving up to date, Ian is the principle director behind Go-sail.je. He is a qualified, commercial skipper and licenced to undertake both skippered or bareboat charter. A self-employed businessman and married, with two children, he knows full well the difficulties of making boating fit into the requirements of a modern lifestyle and felt that there must be an easier way for people to achieve it. Thus, he has come up with the "Go-sail.je" concept.
"We also recognised that while sailing can be an idylic way to travel, we don't always have the time or desire to sail." says Ian, " Hence we have introduced the option of a sports motorcruiser which enables members to get to their destination safely and more quickly."
